I am still around

For those of you that may wonder where I am at, I am still around. Moving was much more of a headache than I expected. Thanks to a screw up in dates I had to rescheldule my cable transfer and that put me a week behind in getting it transfered. I really should have waited until June to move, May has never been a good month for me. The worst things that have ever happen to me in life all happen in the month of May, so May May go away lol.

I will be back to posting very shortly, I really miss my internet. So all of you have a good day and I will talk to you soon.

Just to let you know

I will be in the process of moving during the next couple of days and my internet service will be interrupted. I am hoping that it will not be for long. Moving is such a great thing to do. Packing and unpacking is one of the greatest enjoyments you can have in life(yeah right). I am not sure when the transfer will take place as far as the internet. You never know when it comes to cable companies. But hopefully it will not take long. For all of you entrecard droppers, keep dropping by. Thanks

When you have gas prices and food prices as high as they are today, people are going to revert to using credit cards. A lot of you will be applying for new credit cards. But there are ways to make credit cards work for you. Credit Cards Club does a excellent job of giving you a credit card rating on various cards.

And if you cannot afford to pay off the balance, then you need the lowest interest rate that you can find. So before just getting any credit card that is out there, check out the reviews at Credit Cards Club.

My Ramblings

I was reading a news article the other day that talks about how blogging is like therapy for a lot of people. I can see that happening. When you read a lot of blogs you will find that, women seem to get more personal in their post than men.

Men seem to be infatuated with make money online blogs. And it seems that most make money online blogs get more hits from men than women also. I guess that is all most of us guys think about is making money.

Women on the other hand seem to get very personal in their blogs. Talking about their everyday life, the good times and the bad. They are also more likely to voice their opinion on something quicker than the guys will.

I have tried to stay away from personal thoughts on this blog. Mainly because I really do not have a personal life as of the moment. I have a few friends, but I do not like most of them anyway. Most have some sort of brain deficiency and could not fight their way out of a wet paper bag. I could talk about my family, but I could write a series of books on my family and still not be able to cover everything that would need to be covered.

But there is one thought that I can write that is personal, this is to my ex-wife. The mother of my daughter. Although she is not my mother, she is the mother of my child. I wish that she has a very happy mothers day and I want her to know that although she is still hard headed. She is still a great mom to my daughter. Even though we have our differences, if I had to do things all over again. I still would choose her to be the mother of my child. Happy Mothers Day Cheryl, you are still the greatest.

Help choose a winner.

What the smell is that? Whew!!!!!!! Time to get out the Renuzit Tri Scents. And while I am doing that, it is time to vote for my favorite Renuzit Tri Scents "Transform your home with Tanya Memme" semi-finalist.

I like to see nice people get a chance to have their home transformed. And the winner of this contest will receive a $20,000.00 home make over with Tanya Memme. That is a big make over and the good thing is, you can help decide the winner. I have always felt that the power of the people's vote is better that one person choosing a winner. And with this contest, the people's choice is what counts.

The embedded photo is the one that gets my vote. The entry talks about how the husband and wife has to sleep on the couch because the two bedrooms are to small for both of their children to share a room. This says a lot about the love of a child. Some parents do not take their children into consideration, but this family does. Economic times are hard for a lot of people. And what Renuzit Try Scents is doing, is a great thing.

There are 10 entries in the semi-finalist gallery that you can vote for. And you can vote once a day until the 7th of June. Every vote counts and the entry with the most votes will be the winner.

Sharpton arrested

The Rev. Al Sharpton was arrested today in New York after organizing a protest that shut down part of the traffic in the city. He was among 200 others that was arrested also.

I understand that a lot of people do not agree with the outcome of the trial. But why disrupt everyones life just to make your point? What they did was dangerous. What if someone had died because they could not make it to the hospital because of people blocking the road. Or what about the people that may have been late for work, or maybe missed an important appointment or something. They could have been holding up one of the Judges of the Appeals Court that might be looking at the case. How would that affect things.

50 shots is a whole lot of bullets flying into one car. I honestly agree with that. And having one Judge make the decision in a case like this should be looked at. But blocking roads and creating problems is not the way to do things.

Red Sox - Yankees = Someone dead

A female Yankee fan is accused of running down a male Red Sox fan, killing him. According to ESPN they were arguing in a bar and the argument was taken out side. The Yankee fan then decided that she was going to run over the Red Sox fan so she did.

This is some more of the stupid things people do. Why even argue over a ball team? I am a huge sports fan, and I talk my trash to people just as much as anyone else. But I know that I can expect it in return. I have play recreational sports all my life and even then trash is talked. But people do not kill people over it. I knew I had to back up what I talked about on the field because at the end of the game it was time to shake hands and forget about it. But killing someone over a team that you have no control over.

Sports are suppose to be entertainment. We are suppose to watch the others play the game. Yes we can have or favorites. But if our favorite team was the only team out there, then they would have no one to play. I am not a Yankees fan, but I respect them for what they did in the 90's. I am not a Red Sox fan either, but two year ago they made a remarkable comeback against the Yankees. I think Jose Canseco should go to the hall of fame. He seems to be the only honest ball player out there. And I am still amazed at some of the HR's he hit, even though he was on steroids. But I am not going to kill someone because they do not like him.

Now this Yankee fan has killed someone in the Boston area. She is going to most likely spend a few years in prison in the Boston area. She will most likely get to see all the local coverage of the Red Sox for a long long time. Now that was really stupid. Oh never mind, I forgot that we supply our criminals with cable television and computer networks. What a waste of money.

Stop Identity Theft

Have you ever got a phone call wanting you to pay for something that you did not owe? I have. A $700 dollar phone bill and a $400 dollar light bill. Lucky for me I was able to track down the people that did this and recover my money. And considering that I knew the people helped a little also.

In 2006 over 200k people reported identity theft here in the U.S. And when someone gets a hold to your identity it does not take long to send you deeply in debt. I watched a news program where they documented a credit card scam with stolen credit cards. It took less than 30 minutes and the credit cards were maxed out. That is how easy it was. There are places that can help you prevent this. Lifelock is one of those places. The CEO is so sure of his company that he broadcast his social security number on the web.

Although it is impossible to catch every thief that is out there. You can let lifelock stop them from ruining your name. It is a lot harder to straighten things out after you have had your identity stolen, than it is to stop them from stealing it.

Filly euthanized

What a interesting day at the Kentucky Derby. First, Big Brown took home the Roses. Secondly the runner-up Eight Belles has to euthanized before she could ever get off the track. No I did not make a mistake by calling Eight Belles a she. She was the only filly in the race.

She collapsed going into the second turn on her cool down lap and broke both of her ankles. Leaving her unable to stand and therefore the vet had to do what it had to do.

Racing is dangerous whether you are a animal or a human. I have seen tragedy happen in all sports. But spectators still love to watch it. The thrill of victory can be great, but the agony of defeat can cause animals, or humans to lose their life.

I am sure there will be a little bit of news on this in the next few days. It is just sad that it happened. But that is racing.

Hee Haw comedian passes away

Jim Hager, one of the Hager twins on the 70's hit show Heehaw passed away today according to CNN. Some of you younger people may not know who I am talking about, but I am sure the older ones do.

Although it is sad when anyone passes away, this brought back a lot of memories for me. Memories of when life was not as complicated and when sitting around watching cornball show like Heehaw was a simple as life got. It seemed like every Saturday night I was at my grandfathers house watching this show when it came on. During the commercials I recall sneaking back to my grandmothers kitchen grabbing a piece of fatback off of the table. She always had food on the table.

Although I did not know any of the people that was on the show personally. They are still a part of my childhood memories. May God be with the Hager family and his twin brother Jon. Just like all the other characters from that show that has passed away. I am sure Jim is somewhere a picken and a grinnen.

Don't Forget about Mothers Day

May is mothers day time and it is just around the corner. And for all of you dads out there, it means that you need to start helping your children find their mother a gift. And also time for all of us children to start thinking about what we are going to get our mom.

For those of you that cannot afford to get your mom a new house or a new car(like me) 1800flowers.com is a great place to start looking for only the best gift. And if your mom does not live in the same city with you, it is even better. 1800flowers.com is a one stop shopping place for beautiful flower arrangements, cards, gift cards. And same day delivery is available also. That way you can have it sent on a certain date and know that it will be there. And not have to worry about whether the mail system is going to let you down.

Mothers day is a day to thank our moms for all that she has done for us. Do not let her down and forget to get her a gift. If you forget, I am sure she will let you know about it.

What a night

What a night last night was. Working in construction I have spent quite a bit of time outside in my lifetime. And until lately I have never had any problems with my sinuses. That seemed to change this year. After having a headache for the past week I finally gave in and went to the doctor.

I have been hit with baseballs, softballs, dropped brick on my foot, even hit my finger with a hammer. Nothing compares to having a sinus headache and a sinus infection. To go along with that I have a ear infection also that stemmed from the sinus infection. Now comes the pain of having to pay for all the medicine to take care of it.

I am lucky myself being able to take care of things like that. But it makes me wonder how people that cannot afford medical help survive, and make it through pain like that. Getting medical help should not even be a option. It would be nice if everyone could have the luxury of seeing a doctor when things go wrong. Maybe one day that will be able to happen.

W.H. Stark House

Working in construction most of my life I have learned to appreciate the value of historic homes. Although technology has increased considerably and the structure of homes are completely different due to cost and safety concerns, homes are still not as beautiful as some of the older 19th century masterpieces.

The W.H.Stark house was built in 1894 by W.H. Stark and his wife. It was occupied until their respected deaths in 1936. I remained unoccupied until 1971 when a 10 year restoration effort was implemented and it opened as historical museum in February of 1981. Located in Orange Texas it is listed in the National Register of Historical Places and designated as a Record Texas Historical Landmark by the Texas Historical Commission.

The W.H. Stark House is designed in the Queen Anne architectural style, it has a distinctive turret, stained glass window, and ornate woodwork in cypress and long leaf yellow pine. It is 14,000 square feet with 15 rooms.

Considering that W.H. Stark was a career timber dealer it is no wonder that the house he would build would be of such luxury. But the luxuries continue through out the home with the decorations and the historical artifacts . You can find a rare copy of the Napoleon Death Mask, antique porcelains, a one of a kind tea service, American Brilliant Period cut glass, and many more unique and antique pieces.

The W.H. Stark House is located in Orange Texas. It is a the only surviving structure of many that use to line the neighborhood in Orange. You can now visit the home and take a tour. You can see for yourself all of the antiques and the beautiful woodwork that makes this home a part of Texas History. You can also visit the web page and find out even more information on the luxurious piece of history.

Many homes that were built during this time period never got the chance to be restored. And there is a lot of history that we will never get to see. But this one got its second chance when it was restored. Now, we all can see the beauty of one of the Historical 19th century homes.

April at a glance

The month of April was so so when it came to making money online. Although I made a little, I did not make a lot. It evened out to be about the same as March, which was a little over a hundred bucks for this page. My other page totaled 60 dollars but some of that will not be seen for a while since it is tied up in Google Adsense. That is the only thing that I do not like about adsense, you have to make at least a hundred bucks to get any of it. I was reading a blog the other day where this guy made 70k a month on adsense alone.

Now that this is dwaynereaves.com I am hoping to do a lot more with this page. Some of the review opportunities have picked up recently and so have the page views. Blogging is not all fun and no work. Getting traffic and continuously updating takes time and a lot of thought. But I am in there for the long haul of making this one of the more popular blogs on the web.

For the month of May I am looking at doubling the income of this blog. I am also looking at doubling the amount of page hit also. I will be hitting the social networks very aggressively.
So stick around a leave a comment here and there, and if you have not subscribed yet I would like for you to please do so.
