For the past couple months I have been thinking about getting my own domain name. Well I finally went ahead and did that. I am now the proud owner of dwaynereaves.com . Now as far as my hosting and things like that, I have not figured out all of that yet. But at least I have the first step taken care of.
By doing this means that I have to re- submit all my listings in directories, affiliate links, and all my other forums and organizations that I belong to. WOW that is going to be a lot of fun.
Until I get a chance, and know that I will have time to do all of that, I am still going to use this domain. This week has already been busy enough as it is.
If any of you have any tips on how I can do this in a smooth and less time consuming method, please feel free to let me know.

I use Blue Host and Word Press. I will not lie to you, it is confusing as heck switching.
You can use Blogspot and your domain name. If I had to do it again, I would probably do that.
I would first change the domain name and keep blogspot for the hosting like cybercelt suggested. I would expect they will set up redirect to the domain for you. Once your links are pointing to your domain, you can move to WordPress and your own hosting.
Or, bit the bullet right now while your blog is still somewhat new and change it all right away. You will need to learn how to set up a redirect on your blogspot pages. I admit this would have me stumped and I would need to learn how. I am very inexperienced about blogger blogs.
Congrats Dwayne for your new domain name :) It's about time you have one, so I can drop everyday. I still have problem sometimes to access the blogspot sites...
