Rape a child pay with your life. What do you think? I have my opinion. And it sort of goes along with what the Louisiana Government thinks.
This story reminds me of one of my favorite books and movies "A time to kill". How can someone hurt a child? That is something that you would think would never happen. But I guess there are some really sick people around. Giving the death penalty for this can be tricky though. Children are sometimes not reliable in their stories. If someone were to hurt the child and tell them that they would harm their parents if they told, the child might be persuaded to not tell the truth. And there have also been cases where children's parents accuse someone of things just to get back at them.
But if there is DNA evidence that someone did something like this to a child. No doubt that the death penalty is worthy sentence. Aborting someones life for a crime like this is really not that big of a deal. People abort unborn children everyday and it is perfectly legal.
There are a lot of opponents to the death penalty. I completely understand that. Some people are just to weak to enforce punishment on others. That is why it is important to have people that are strong in their beliefs and to stand up for justice. You cannot just let people get away with things like this.
Maybe one day we will live in a society where there is no crime and no punishment is needed. But until then, we have to set a example for others to live by. On Wednesday the Supreme Court will take up this issue. I am interested in hearing their say on this.

Personally, I am completely opposed to the death penalty. I am a big fan of Ron Paul who says issues like this should be up to individual states. I think drug laws and abortion should be left up to states too. If we don't like the law, we can move to a state with different ones. I do consider child molestation to be just as bad as murder though.
In my opinion, any form of abuse to a child should be punished with death, then again, I would also support death for drunk driving, illegal drug use or distribution. Tougher laws = less crime, just look to the Middle East and public execution for an example then weigh their crime rate versus ours.Law abiding citizens should never fear the criminals, it should be the other way around.
