Fighting with spouse good for you

CNN has a article about how fighting with your spouse is good for you health. And it can actually make you live longer. I wonder if that works with fighting with you ex also? If so I am in for a long long life.

The story has a good point, but here in North Carolina you need to watch yourself. Women here will get physical. And that can lead to a lot of bruises. So forget about eating healthy and exercising, just go home and pick a fight.

Students are under ever-more pressure these days to come up with something novel to frame their thesis around. And then you've got the journalists that indulge every study as "credible". So women who self silence are four times as likely to die. Great. Now women everywhere can cite damage to their health in a divorce for having argued with their husband. These studies of course never address whether the result is spurious, and we're supposed to believe that holding it in *causes* death, as opposed to other things in that environment, habits, etc. Maybe people who are likely to die also don't have the energy for a heated debate? No, thats no fun, where's the spin? Much more interesting to say that arguing makes you live longer.

Wow after 40 years of marriage my husband should be in excellent health! Cause in 40 years we have had some doozies! So according to this we should have another 40 years to fight with each other??? Don't get me wrong we don't fight all the time we have a very good marriage but we do have some good fights.

I once heard that arguing can be healthy if you are an arguer and your spouse is as well. If not, it can be a real drain. And I am not so sure the real idea is really how you communicate. We all know it is not good to hold in negative stuff, but it is all in how you expel it. Hence, I suspect with an ex, it might not be healthy. After all, it is an ex after all.

I think it is bad for one's health to not express anger. All that bottled up rage is bad for heart.

Anyway, your bit about the women in North Carolina made me laugh. Thanks!
